The Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences (KFSCIS) at the Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, Florida, invites applications for multiple tenured and tenure-track faculty positions at all ranks. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in all areas of Computer Science that complement and enhance our current research strengths. Expertise in interdisciplinary areas are particularly encouraged. Applicants must hold a doctorate degree in Computer Science or related field, and show evidence of engagement in high-impact research and a commitment to high-quality teaching.

Candidates for senior positions must have an active and sustained record in funded research, publications, and professional service, as well as demonstrated leadership in high-impact projects. Candidates for junior positions should have a record of research in their early careers with demonstrated abilities to pursue their research agenda. The positions require teaching diverse audiences at both graduate and undergraduate levels, and active participation in departmental and university activities.

KFSCIS has six research centers, including federally-funded centers of excellence. The school has close to 40 tenured and tenure-track faculty members, many of whom have NSF, DOE, DOD CAREER or Young Investigator awards and other national recognitions for their contributions. It has over 4,300 students, including more than 100 Ph.D. students and 350 M.S. students. The School is engaged in ongoing and exciting new and expanding programs for research, education, and outreach. Computer Science has been identified as one of the University¿s strategic growth areas, and KFSCIS has launched many initiatives and degree programs to produce technologically-trained expertise for the burgeoning South Florida Tech Hub. The Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences seeks candidates for multiple non-tenure-track, open-rank, teaching faculty positions. Successful candidates are expected to teach a variety of courses offered by the School.  Those interested in teaching subjects such as programming languages, theory (especially linear structures and logic), digital forensics, blockchain, DevOps, and simulation/modeling are particularly encouraged to apply, though we welcome potential faculty for all of our courses. A Master¿s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines is required and a PhD degree is preferred. While this position is not a tenure-track position, it does have a promotion progression: teaching faculty with a terminal degree are eligible for consideration for promotion after five years.
