Dr. Mark Finlayson, an Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Information Sciences, has been awarded an IBM Faculty Award in the amount of $40,000. This award is to support his research in artificial intelligence and natural language processing in the context of his on-going collaborations with IBM researchers. The IBM Faculty Award program is a competitive worldwide program intended to foster collaboration between researchers at leading universities worldwide and those in IBM. These awards support basic research, curriculum innovation, and educational assistance in focus areas that are fundamental to innovation in the 21st Century and strategic to IBM’s core business.
