Biography

Abdul Rehman Gilal possesses extensive experience in both teaching and research within the realms of computer science and software engineering. Over the years, he has actively taught at various distinguished institutions, including the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in Malaysia, and Sukkur IBA University in Pakistan. Dr. Gilal boasts extensive expertise in teaching a variety of computer and software engineering modules: Fundamental Programming, Object-Oriented Programming, Python Programming, Web Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Structures, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Software Design and architecture, Software Testing, Academic Writing, Research Methods, and Experimentation in Software Engineering. During his postdoctoral research tenure at University College Dublin, Dr. Gilal concentrated on the advancement of universal models and methodologies for the creation of assurance cases. These cases were built upon shared assets/components and threats prevalent in software systems. His expertise lies in the domain of software project management, with a notable emphasis on innovative team composition strategies. Dr. Gilal's research contributions span a diverse array of fields, underscoring his impact. Notably, he has played a pivotal role in areas such as human factors within software development, cybersecurity, intricate network analysis, databases and data mining, programming, and cloud computing. This substantial influence is attested by his prolific publication history.
