We had the honor this month to host the Consul General of India along with Indian Consulate officials at the FIU Modesto A. Maidique Campus here at FIU to discuss academic and industry partnerships with India. Leading the conversations was Ms. Birgitta “Gitta” Rausch-Montoto, Director, Faculty & Global Affairs, Office of the Provost.

Ph.D student Thejas Gubbi Sadashiva represented FIU SCIS as an ambassador on behalf of Dr. S.S. Iyengar, Director of FIU’s School of Computing and Information Sciences (FIU SCIS) and presented an impressive array of existing  FIU collaboration activities and agreements with India, demonstrating the depth and strength of FIU’s International outreach and commitment.

The Indian delegates and distinguished guests included, Dr. Swati Kulkarni, Consul General of India in Atlanta, Mr. Prasad Vanpal, Commercial Officer, Consulate General of India, Mr. KV Kumar, Chairman & CEO, Indian American International Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Kaustubh Nadkarni, President, India-US Chamber of Commerce, Inc. in South Florida, Ms. Madhu Mehta, President Emerita, India-US Chamber of Commerce, Inc. in South Florida.
