Dr. Hadi Amini and Dr. Trevor Cickovski Selected as FIU Top-Scholars

The Office of the Provost at FIU announced that two KFSCIS faculty members would join the ranks of Top-Scholars for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. Selected were Dr. Hadi Amini and Dr. Trevor Cickovski.

Dr. Hadi Amini has been selected for Top Scholar for Research and Creative Activities in the category of Junior Faculty with Significant Grants (Sciences). He is recognized for his “outstanding efforts in the area of machine learning and computer science.”

Dr. Trevor Cickovski has been selected for Top Scholar for Teaching in the category of Faculty with Notable Gains in Student Learning and Success (Sciences). He is recognized for his “efforts to improve, align, and effectively assess Computer Programming I with the Center for Inclusive Computing’s national initiatives.”

Dr. Jason Liu, Endowed Professor and Director of the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences stated, “We congratulate Hadi and Trevor for their outstanding accomplishments. It is a pleasure to have these hard-working dedicated faculty members at KFSCIS.”

The two new top scholars will receive their awards at the fall faculty convocation.
