Sam Ganzfried
a Professor of FIU’s School of Computing and Information Sciences was featured on March 9th, 2017 edition of Miami Herald’s Tropical Life. The Meet the FIU prof who beat Poker Pros by Nick Sortal goes into how Ganzfried helped devise a computer that competed against players in Texas Hold ’em.
“The idea of applying this to something outside of poker is interesting, Part of his decision will be based on which students latch on to the project.
“Ideally you can do both. It’s going to depend on the students I can get, If I can get a lot of funding and multiple strong students I can get one working on poker and another applying it to medicine.
