On April 5th and 6th, Women in Computer Science hosted their third annual Soldering Workshop at Maker Faire Miami 2019. With the support of the School of Computing and Information Sciences and this year’s lead organizer, Mario the Maker, we were able to teach over 150 participants how to solder space shuttle kits, from Jaycon Systems, and jitterbug kits, from Rocket Dept, Inc. At the end of a very fulfilling weekend, we were honored to be awarded the Maker of Merit award, given to Makers that demonstrated great creativity, ingenuity and innovation for their project.
